About Jessica

Hi, I’m Jess!

Pediatric Occupational Therapist, Mom of Two, & Childhood Routine Expert

I know how overwhelming the baby and little kid years can be - trust me, I’ve been there (and still am!).

There’s so much to learn and know about sleep, play, feeding, behavior, potty training and more… the list truly goes on.

Finding your groove with a consistent, age-appropriate routine is the secret to putting it all together and raising happy and healthy children, all while finding YOUR confidence and peace of mind at the same time.

The Rooted in Routine Mission

My here at Rooted in Routine is to help you use routines so that your child’s day flows with ease.

Structuring your chid’s day in an age-appropriate way sets you BOTH up for success. When you get into a groove, your child will do the same - and you both will thrive!

There’s so much conflicting and complicated information out there about child development — what toys are best, what your child should eat and not eat, how to get them to sleep through the night, etc.

It’s too much to keep up with and can be SO overwhelming!

That’s where I come in. I want to simplify it all and let you in on a little secret - the key to a happy, healthy baby and child is how they spend their time. And that is something YOU, as a parent, have control over. It’s super powerful!

My Experience & Approach

With a degree in pediatric Occupational Therapy and 10+ years working with children and their families in schools, clinics, and homes, I’ve seen first-hand the vast difference a solid and intentional routine can make in a child’s (and their parent’s!) life.

Rather than specific toys, fancy activities, or intensive therapies, it’s the general structure of a child’s day and the quality of their relationship with parents and caregivers that matters. These are the things that allow children to grow into healthy and happy people.
